Reed, which is harvested in summer, can be used to produce biogas.
The summer harvest can be carried out with suitable boat or by hand. The organic matter, in this case the reed biomass, is decomposed into biogas in the anaerobic circumstances of the biogas plants. Summer-reed contains vital nutrients which bacteria transform into methane and carbon dioxide in the process. The excess sludge from the process can be used, for example, as a fertilizer.
Biogas is good for producing heat and electricity.
