Research clarified the possibilities to utilize winter reed as a source of bioenergy at a local district heating plant in Taivassalo, SW Finland, by conducting test burns and observing the reed's suitability for the heating plant's conveyor equipment. The cost-efficiency of transporting reed from reed bed to heating plant and the functionality of different means of transportation were also studied.

In the Kuusistonlahti (Kaarina) Dragonfly Report the species of dragonflies in the selected reed bed of the COFREEN project were determined, except for the Jauhosaari reed bed at the southern part of the area. In addition the dragonfly species in Kuusistonjärvi were determined.
